im involved with a group here in LAWRENCE that needs an indoor practice site for a rather unusual martial art....
we are an honest..hard working...non profit orgainization..

we might be able to spend some money for the right location.....any ideas??

help - last three days!

So it's down to the wire, people. I apologize for this impersonal message,
but I'm at a point where I need to call upon the resources of
everybody I know, and everybody THEY know...

I'm in a battle of the bands, the Deadwood Derby - or I WILL be if I
can stay in the top 16 for three more days. Everyone has one vote per
24 hours, and I humbly request that you go to the website below and
vote for me at least once, and please three times if possible. If you
can convince anyone else to help out as well, I'd be very grateful -
the bands who have secured their place in the competition have turned
their fans' votes towards their friends' bands, and so I stand to be
removed from the line-up by rampant croneyism if I don't have your
help.

The last day of voting is 18 March. If you'll vote for me (such a
minimal investment) I will write your name on a list which I will bear
on my sleeve and wear into battle - that is, I will perform at this

Again, forgive me for the impersonal message...I doubt something like
this will come up again for a long time.

INEXPENSIVE HOTEL OR ROOM IN LAWRENCE?

Does anyone know of an inexpensive
hotel (maybe residential?) in Lawrence? I am
originally from KC and vaguely remember a
friend staying at some place dowtown, maybe
on Mass but can not remember the name?

I'll probably be coming in to town from
California sometime towards the end of
winter or early spring and may need a
place to stay for a month or so? I'll definitely
be in Lawrence for awhile and might even
stay long term, in any case any pertinent
info will be appreciated.

Places to Live

We're looking to rent at first, but we're not even sure when we're moving out of KC yet. So any advice, tips would be great!

On the off chance you haven't heard, Jericho of Contra Naturam is hosting a spectacular evening out at the Gaslight on the 28th! Modern Cabaret act Alacartoona will be out as will our belly dance troupe, Kundalini. Bar opens at 7 and we'd love to see a good crowd. On June 16th A four day festival, will be held right outside of Lawrence,at Clinton Lake, around 70 Bands will be playing. Stringcheese Incident, and North mississippi Allstars are a couple. tickets are a little expensive though,, Still it's sure to be an experience.....AnYone going???

i cant believe im back on this computer.....not that i dont enjoy it every once in awhile..in fact i really enjoy it...

but this is different....this is just plain trying to forget that the weather still sucks....oh sure that week of spring was GREAT....but here comes KANSAS again to put me in my place....

and i know its not just me.....trying to get a hold of my scattered..(that geographical mostly)...friends has been like trying to forgive your parents.....
do able..but should you even try...

i would go to the replay and just forget about the whole thing....wait for a better emotion to come along...
but its LAWRENCE..and im broke...

this tribe is about as slow as lawrence itself.

here is a topic. post some naughty shit that you have done in the little hamlet we love.

stole food from the scholarship halls while i was tripping (ran out of my shoes while being chased by campus cops)

stole a kitten from humane society

watched an acquaintance take a shit on top of a neighbors thunderbird (or some kind of lame ass wannabe muscle car).

spent time in d.c. jail twice (for really stupid reasons)

there are plenty more but i am keeping it tame for now. just want to see if anyone responds.
