Does anyone know of an inexpensive
hotel (maybe residential?) in Lawrence? I am
originally from KC and vaguely remember a
friend staying at some place dowtown, maybe
on Mass but can not remember the name?
I'll probably be coming in to town from
California sometime towards the end of
winter or early spring and may need a
place to stay for a month or so? I'll definitely
be in Lawrence for awhile and might even
stay long term, in any case any pertinent
info will be appreciated.

Wed, November 9, 2005 - 6:56 AMThe Eldridge on Mass is far from inexpensive, and the alternative downtown is the Marriott, again, not cheap at all.
You might be able to grab a sublease at that time, I'd post on www.larryville.com on the swapmeet page. Lots of landlords and nice folks check the listings there.
There are a couple of places that offer weekly rates, the Virginia Inn is one. -

Sat, November 12, 2005 - 11:49 AMcheck the RAMADA....and a couple of others (COLLEGE motel) ....that are located around 6th and IOWA streets...
you might want to check out the JAYHAWKER and the AIRPORT motels in north LAWRENCE....a lot of construction workers use them for long jobs....so they are set up for long stay overs and such.... -

Thu, November 17, 2005 - 9:13 PMI stayed in the Jayhawk and airport motel when I was in high school, about 3 or 4 years ago. We got rooms there cause we wanted to have a party, and let me tell you, they are really crappy! I saw drug deals going on and I think prostitutes coming and going from one. The airport one was clean, but neither one is nice. They are very cheap for a reason. -
